Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell will not be seeking re-election in 2010. She announced her decision on Nov. 9. Rell has served as the 87th governor of Connecticut and the first female Republican governor. She took over the position of governor after Gov. John Rowland resigned from office.
Again, women's rights are up for debate in Congress. This time the dispute involves the health care bill. The House of Representatives attached the Stupak amendment onto the bill in order to get it passed. This amendment calls for tougher restrictions on federal funding for abortions.
On Oct. 14, former Ralph Lauren model Filippa Hamilton appeared on the "Today Show" accompanied by Kate White, the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan.
