The University of Hartford women's basketball stormed back from a 13-point halftime deficit on the road Tuesday night to claim a 68-53 win over instate rival and the defending NEC champions Sacred Heart. The Hawks shot 68 percent in the second half en route to outscoring the Pioneers 47-19 in the period.
Last March the Louisville Cardinals caught their stride and soared all the way into the national championship game. On Tuesday, it was the Hawks who caught theirs, soaring past the #19/23 ranked Cardinals to a 62-50 victory at Chase Arena and extending their streak of knocking off a ranked opponent to a 5th consecutive season.
Two years ago Hartford women's basketball cruised to a conference championship and came within one game of a trip to the Sweet 16.
