The University’s men’s golf team released their 2012 spring schedule over the winter break which features the Hawks as host of the America Sky Conference championship after their five total tournament appearances.
Held on April 29 through May 1and in Ledyard, Conn at Lake of Isles, the 54 hole conference championship will see 12 teams from around the country in Binghamton, North Dakota, Chicago State, Sacramento State, CSU Bakersfield, Seattle, Hartford, Texas-Pan America, Houston Baptist, Northern Colorado, Utah Valley and Weber State.
Before then, men’s golf coach Pete Stankevich and his team will start their spring campaign as participants in the Wexford Plantation Collegiate at Wexford Plantation in Hilton Head Island, S.C. on Feb. 20 through 21.
The second tournament, the Bandon Dunes Championship, will be held March 16 through 18 and located at Bandon Dunes Resort in Bandon, Oreg.
The men’s golf team’s third spring tournament will be the Towson Invitational scheduled for March 30 through April 1and held at the Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Mary.
From April 6 through April 7 the men’s team will be competing in the New England Division I championship held at the Newport National Golf Course in Middletown, R.I..
During this past 2011 fall season the men’s team highest finish amongst top ten finishes in all but one of their appereances was fourth and were led by senior Matt Smith.
