The University of Hartford men’s soccer team is expected to name Tom Poitras as its next head coach, a source familiar with the team’s decision-making said Tuesday.
Poitras, who played at nearby Southern Connecticut State University, most recently managed the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. In 2009, he led the Phoenix to an NCAA Tournament appearance, its first appearance in 26 years, according to the team’s website.
Assistant coach David Kelly will leave the program, after campaigning to fill the vacant head coaching position left by Dan Gaspar.
