Being a part of the Alumni Association of the University of Hartford has many benefits. The goal of the Office of Alumni Relations is to uphold relationships with current, past and future students.

One of the ways that the office does this is by promoting an event that is known as “Express to Success” which pairs current upper-class students with alumni professionals and allows students to experience what their career would be like with the leaders in their prospective fields.

This is such an advantageous experience especially for seniors who are graduating in a year or less. The Express to Success is a special and unique opportunity that the university offers.

The Office of Relations also has an excellent networking program called “Anchor Online,” which is the University of Hartford’s online community. It is a social networking service that promotes communication and professional networking with students and the alumni members.

There are a vast amount of members that are a part of Anchor Online, some of whom are located all around the world. The Anchor Online is beneficial for students who are looking to find jobs out of the state, and for those seeking to get advice from others in their intended field.

The Office of Alumni Relations also offers benefits such as medical insurance, home and auto insurance savings, Zipcar partnership, car rental and hotel discounts, and even alumni travel plans. The medical insurance that the Office of Alumni Relations provides is beneficial for recent graduates and alumni that are searching for jobs.

Another service worth taking advantage of that the Office of Alumni Relations offers is career development that can help graduates who have a year or less of schooling left. Career service has helpful information such as: how to write a resume, a cover letter, planning interviews, job searches and even learning how to network.

Being a part of the alumni program also includes events and programs such as homecoming, an event that the university hosts during a weekend in the fall.
The university plans special events and reunions for the alumni members throughout the year. Some of the special events that are held are: casino night, alumni artisans market place and alumni musicians spotlight.

There are even events that are specifically for reunions with the Red Caps and the School of Communication as well as other schools within the university.
There are also Anchor Awards which are held during homecoming weekend. The Anchor Awards are given to honorary alumni members and are given by members of the university community such as deans, students and other alumni members.

The alumni anchor is a tradition that gives back to alumni. There are a vast variety of services that the Office of Alumni Relations offers for all those that are involved in the University of Hartford community, and all these services are highly important to the graduating seniors. Being an active part of the alumni association is beneficial especially after graduating.

There is so much that the university provides and proves that being a part of the University of Hartford is a lifelong membership.
