Chelsea Handler’s Late Night Show Taking Off Fast

Chelsea Handler has been the host of her own late-night comedy show, “Chelsea Lately” since July of 2007. The host talks and makes fun of the latest happenings in Hollywood. Chelsea is full of off the wall and raunchy remarks such as when she refers to a woman’s personal place as her “kaslapis” or “Pikachu.”

Miss Handler also loves to profess her love of vodka and even has the time in her 30-minute segment to make fun of her boyfriend, Ted, for being rather older than herself. Handler loves to talk and no topic is ever off limits.

“Chelsea Lately” starts off with Handler sharing a joke on something going on in the world, usually in the entertainment industry.

Sometimes she may be talking about her very strong yet comical dislike for Tori Spelling and John Mayer or, how she was raised by a Mormon and a Jew.

The show continues with a “round table” which is three guests and Chelsea talking about the latest celebrity gossip and pop culture.

Regulars at the round table include comedians Heather McDonald, Brad Wollack, Chris Franjola, Ross Matthews, Michael Yo and Loni Love; who will be here at The University of Hartford for Spring Fling.

Chelsea’s assistant, Chuy Bravo, chimes in on the topics discussed during every show. Bravo also performs in comedic videos, along with other regular guests at the round table, which are shown during the 30-minute show.

Bravo is an older man who is “pleasantly plump.” He is also from Mexico and has a wonderful accent to prove it. Handler introduces Bravo in every episode using nicknames either influenced from his Mexican background, his shortness or his outfit of the day.

Bravo has nicknames such as “my little quesadilla” and “my little blueberry,” but his infamous nickname is “little nugget.” Bravo has become famous for being Handler’s assistant and sidekick, and everyone loves him for it.

After “Chelsea Lately” comes back from commercial break, it is time for Chelsea to interview her celebrity guest. Guests such as reality show star and fashion designer Lauren Conrad; actresses Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway and Lisa Rinna; actors Jim Carrey, Tyrese Gibson and Peter Facinelli; music stars Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes, Akon and Ozzy Osbourne; and comic Lisa Lampanelli have all sat on the stage and chatted with Handler. She interviews her guests in a relaxed and friendly way, almost as if they were sitting in a bar or at home in someone’s living room.

She always shares laughs with her guests and in the end of the interview discovers what the guest’s latest project is. Guests look and act calmer and more real compared to their other more formal and serious interviews in the past. Handler has been making people laugh through our television screens ever since “Chelsea Lately” hit the air three years ago.

She also has her viewers cracking up with her books “My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands” and “Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea.”

You can see Handler, Bravo and the round table crew Monday through Friday at 11 p.m. on E! Why not? Laughter is the best stress reliever and we all know we could use some of that in our chaotic schedules!
