The Konover Market Deli and Taco Bell will close 30 minutes earlier starting on Monday, March 1.
The administration at the university requested this change due to recurring issues with student and non-student behavior around closing time, which is currently 2 a.m.
According to Lee Peters, the Vice President of Student Affairs, there have been instances with students who are at Konover at closing who do not leave. This creates issues with starting the establishment’s closing process on time.
With the new hours, the entrance to Konover will close at 1:30 a.m. Customers who have already entered Konover will be served, but they must vacate the building by 2 a.m. This allows the Market Deli and Taco Bell employees to begin the process of clean-up and shut-down of the facility.
This decision came down from the administration to ARAMARK. The amount of people at Konover late at night has created some safety concerns in the university. Many students go to the Market Deli and Taco Bell between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. for the late-night meals, since they are the only dining establishments open at that time.
The behavior exhibited there, however, has prompted the decision to close Konover 30 minutes earlier. The building is also extremely crowded during this time. The administration believes that this change will help make the closing procedures go more smoothly.
“Please be respectful of our university employees as they perform their duties in Konover and all over campus,” said Peters.

Ah this is great publicity for Taco Bell, but going back to my ideals, I think this is a great idea but if it gets bad feedback and “hate”, then the food joint may lose valid clients. They are playing a risky game, when they append regulations that are geared toward a key demographic.
