The RISE Leadership Web site states that its mission is "to develop effective and essential leadership skills in students and student groups through comprehensive leadership education and diverse experiences."

The event, according to the RISE Web site, will begin at 10 a.m. with a continental breakfast and registration. Max Koskoff, who is the RISE Leadership Center Coordinator, described Leadership Quest as "a half-day conference in which students can come get a great deal of leadership topics."

Koskoff said that the keynote speaker of this year's Leadership Quest will be Ed Gerety. According to the Gerety Presentations Web site, Gerety's business was founded when he was 22 years old upon graduation from the University of New Hampshire.

Gerety has endeavored to "help others to excel" by speaking "to audiences in all 50 states, Canada, and Europe." Furthermore Gerety is the author of "Combinations, College Crossroads" and has contributed to three books in the "Teen Power" series with over 250,000 copies in print.

Gerety has thoroughly studied "the area[s] of leadership, peak performance, and psychosocial development of adolescents and young adults," according to his Web site.

Presentation sessions at Leadership Quest 2009 will include one titled "What You Need to Know Before You JUMP Into the Shark Tank! Strategies and Tools for Dealing With Difficult People," presented by Robert Costello and Tracey Pakstis-Claiborne.

There will also be educational leadership presentations for educational doctoral students called, respectively, "Leading With Character and Integrity" and "How Leaders Influence Followers."

Father Michael J. Dolan, the Chaplain of the University's Newman Club, will be delivering a presentation called "Spirituality and Leadership."

Hillyer College Dean David Goldenberg, as well as Robert King, the Associate Director of Operations for the Office of Residential Life, will be giving their own presentations during Leadership Quest, according to Koskoff.

Also, Koskoff said, Suzanne Anderson McNeil, Assistant Vice President for Student Health and Wellness, will speak regarding "Energizing Your Personal Potential: The Unlimited Growth of Balance."

This session, according to Koskoff, will teach students how to "keep energy levels up" while simultaneously "overloaded with information from classes, job, and/or extracurricular activities," and how "to stay healthy when others are depending on you."
